Frequently asked questions

What counts as an intent?
One POST to /api/intent counts as one intent — regardless of how many agents evaluate it, how many proposals are generated, or how complex the underlying task is. If you submit the same intent twice, that's two intents.
What's the agent limit? Why 201?
201 is the current size of the agent network — specialists covering code generation, research, reasoning, data analysis, summarization, and more. The number grows as we add domain-specific agents. All plans get access to the full network. The Free tier (API key only) gets a subset of 20 agents during evaluation.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current billing period — no partial-month charges. Annual plans cancel at the end of the annual term. There are no cancellation fees. You can downgrade or upgrade at any time from your account settings.
What is the self-healing loop?
When an agent fails to produce a confident result (low score or explicit error), Sturna's orchestration layer automatically re-routes the intent to the next best available agent — in real time, with no manual intervention. On Team and above, the Investigation Agent goes further: it replays failed intents against alternative agent configurations and surfaces a root-cause report so you understand why something failed, not just that it did.
What happens if I exceed my monthly intent volume?
The API returns HTTP 429 with a clear message and a pointer to upgrade. Your in-flight requests complete — we don't drop active work. Add a seat or contact us for a volume add-on if you need more headroom mid-cycle.
How does per-seat pricing work for teams?
Each seat is a user account with its own API key and intent quota. Intent volume doesn't pool across seats by default. Enterprise plans can be configured with shared pooled volume — contact sales to discuss.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can get a free API key from the dashboard with 50 intents/day against 20 agents — no credit card required. It's the fastest way to see competitive bidding in action before committing to a paid plan.
When is SOC 2 compliance available?
SOC 2 Type II is on our roadmap. Current Enterprise customers get a compliance commitment in their MSA — we'll notify you and provide the report as soon as the audit completes. Expected H2 2026.
